Cookie Policy
Cookie Usage
This Cookie Policy explains how CLIPPO uses cookies and similar technologies. We use minimal cookies necessary to operate the platform — we do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help maintain your session and improve your experience.
2. Cookies We Use
We use a minimal set of cookies, all of which are necessary for platform functionality or anonymized analytics:
Authentication Cookie (Essential)
Required to keep you logged in. Cannot be disabled.
- Name: authjs.session-token (development) or __Secure-authjs.session-token (production)
- Purpose: Maintains your authenticated session
- HttpOnly: Yes (not accessible to JavaScript)
- Secure: Yes in production
- SameSite: Lax
- Domain: .clippo.media in production
Vercel Analytics (Performance)
Anonymized analytics to help us improve the platform.
- Vercel Analytics: Collects page views and web vitals
- Vercel Speed Insights: Measures page load performance
- Privacy-focused: No personal identifiers used
- No cross-site tracking
3. What We Do NOT Use
For transparency, here is what we explicitly do not use:
Not Used
- No advertising or marketing cookies
- No Google Analytics
- No Facebook Pixel or tracking pixels
- No third-party ad network cookies
- No cross-site tracking cookies
4. Server-Side Storage
In addition to cookies, we use server-side storage that does not store data on your device:
Session Cache (Upstash Redis)
- Temporarily caches your session data server-side
- Expires after 5 minutes
- Used to reduce database load and speed up page loads
- Not stored on your device
Rate Limiting (Upstash Redis)
- Tracks request counts to prevent abuse
- Uses sliding time windows (1 minute to 1 hour)
- Data expires automatically
- Not stored on your device
5. Third-Party Connections
Pusher (WebSocket)
We use Pusher for real-time notifications and support chat. Pusher establishes a WebSocket connection from your browser and may set its own connection-related cookies. These are necessary for real-time functionality.
6. Managing Cookies
Your Options
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings
- Blocking the authentication cookie will prevent you from staying logged in
- Vercel Analytics can be blocked via browser ad-blockers
- Disabling cookies does not affect server-side caching
